Canarium luzonicum Phillipines
Elemi is known as the poor cousin of frankincense. It has a similar lemony and balsamic aroma. It is from the same family as frankincense and myrrh. It is very grounding and useful for meditation.
Physically it is useful for the care of wounds and also has an affinity with the respiratory system. It is a good oil for the skin.
It blends well with frankincense and other oils from resins, spice oils, lavender & lemon.
It is steam distilled from the resin exuded from the tree.
It will keep for around 3-4 years after opening if stored with lid tightly closed in a cool, dark area.
